Dems criticize Estabrook's 24-second "stumble"
By EditorDid Anne Estabrook need her notes to answer a question on the second amendment at a recent forum for Republican U.S. Senate candidates? That’s what the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee seems to think after viewing a video of Estabrook’s response posted on the Internet by one of her GOP rivals, Prof. Murray Sabrin. Estabrook, the Democrats say, “stumbles for 24 seconds to search through her notes for the right answer.”
“The next time the Bush Republicans dredge up a candidate in New Jersey, they should at least tell her to memorize her lines,” said DSCC spokesman Matthew Miller. “If Anne Estabrook has to read from a script every time she sets foot in public, New Jerseyans are going to want to know if it’s being written by the same Washington Republicans who are backing her campaign.”
