HACKENSACK – Bergen County Freeholders Julie O’Brien and Vernon Walton today proudly accepted the endorsement of the Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey. Headquartered in Trenton, the PFANJ represents the interests of more than 3,500 professional firefighters and their families across the state.
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey,” said Freeholder O’Brien. “Vernon and I have always strived to serve them by working to make sure that Bergen County’s first responders have the resources they need to keep us safe and return safely to their families.”
The Professional Firefighters Association was chartered in 1929 and has grown to include more than 60 unions. Their mission is to organize professional firefighters and other first responders, ensure they have the tools necessary to perform their jobs and care for those who have dedicated their careers to caring for us.
“It runs contrary to every fiber of our being to run toward an inferno but these brave men and women do it on a daily basis,” Freeholder Walton said. “I am grateful for what they do for us and humbled by their support of Julie and myself.”

while the taxpayers are getting Hosed
Julie O Brien sings to the Firemen
" Baby Come and light my fire " and the taxpayers keep asking who's ya Daddy ?
"Professional" Firefighters?
"Professional" firefighters have jobs because they COST less then their substitute good: fire-suppression and fire-retardant systems, not because they are 'heroes.'
I do not listen to the political opinions of those who value their own lives less than the cost of a sprinkler head and a few yards of hose.
