The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is targeting Republican Congressman Scott Garrett on the issue of middle class tax cuts.
“Representative Garrett opposed tax cuts for middle class families by voting against a fiscally responsible budget. As hardworking Americans are squeezed more every month, Representative Garrett values loyalty to President Bush’s failed economic policies that got us into this mess more than tax cuts for middle-class families,” said DCCC press secretary Doug Thornell.
“Unfortunately, this is the business as usual approach we have come to expect from Representative Garrett, who continues to put partisanship ahead of a new direction for America’s families.”

Massive Tax Increases
... are NOT fiscally responsible. Any representative from "rich" NJ who votes to impose crippling tax increases upon his own constituents should be drummed out of office.
What "got us into this mess" was outrageous spending, which the "responsible" budget proposes to massively increase.
Just as with NJ, the US does not suffer from a revenue problem, it suffers from a spending problem. Taxes should be cut, not increased, and Representative Garrett deserves the heartfelt thanks of every New Jersey resident for standing up for the taxpayers against the spenders.
Oh, did I mention that the "responsible" Democratic majority refused to even consider limiting earmark-pork?
CHEAP SHOT!
Hey Alex,
Why didn't you call the Democrats on this one and ask specifically which bill or bills are they referring too?
This article is intended as a hit piece, typical of punk neighborhood kids.
"Rich people"

"middle class"
What passes for "middle class" at the national level couldn't even begin to support the average family in NJ. Let the Dems taking a shot at Garrett first define what they mean by "middle class". They won't do so for the simple reason that the national equivalent of "middle class" is barely above the familial subsistence level in this very expensive kingdom known as the Garden State. In Mississippi, you're a freakin' Rockefeller if you make six figures. You're "middle class" if you make 30-40K. Try living la vida loca in Jersey with that chunk of change in your wallet.
I found out from my accountant this past week that I am considered "wealthy" by the federal government. That's news to me. When Nancy Pelosi divests herself of her tens of millions of dollars (her hubby is mega-rich) and takes a stab at living like a commoner, I might begin to listen to her class rhetoric. It is always amusing to hear the Corzines and Lautenbergs of the world preach to me about how selfish I am to actually want to keep what I earn.
NEWS EVERYBODY, DEMOCRATS ARE FOR MIDDLE CLASS!!!
Politicker NJ is amazing. I was unaware that Democrats were for the middle class. In addition, Democrats also cut taxes. These are revelations to me. Please, write more of these revelations.
Rich People according to Democrats
Ann Coulter defined Rich People according to Democrats as "Anyone who can afford an alarm clock."
Garrett is the only Republican Congressman in New Jersey. I am proud to have him as my Congressman. Too bad there are not 200 more of him in Congress.
"Every citizen should be a soldier. This was the case with the Greeks and Romans, and must be that of every free state." - Thomas Jefferson
Garrett/Santorum/Bush
Well, the rationale and reasoning from the DCCC for criticizing Garrett (R-18th-century) is certainly on target, and Bush's tax cuts, combined with the resource-depleting, $12-billion per week war in Iraq, have left the country in weaker financial straits and with a crippling deficit for future generations. But the tax cuts aren't the best material with which to go after the draconian Garrett: Hit him on his refusal to support the renewal of the Voting Rights Act and his refusal to include sexual orientation in the latest hate crimes legislation bills. I'm just glad that the DCCC is going after Garrett, whose legislative votes and political philosophy reveal the workings of an intolerant, fundamentalist conservative.
Paid Family Grief
Just where do these Dems get off sunsetting the estate tax back to the the poverty level. ? The Dems dont want Americans to accumulate wealth or leave any money to their kids.
These international socialists like Hillary and Obama are the main cheerleaders of Americas Economic decline. They have and do not want solutions for economic growth and individual prosperity.
Question is anyone in this forum ( except Government cronies) employed by poor people ?
