CWA members seek Berg recall

Some CWA Local 1034 members are circulating a petition to recall Jonathan Berg from the Executive Board, where he is Vice President of the Higher Level Supervisory Unit. Berg has spoken out against union president Carla Katz,  who appears popular among her union membership for her toughness and political clout.

In an e-mail to members, organizers of the Recall Berg movement said:

Every 1034 member should sign and circulate this petition to recall Jonathan Berg from the Executive Board of Local 1034. Pass this email on to all the CWA members you know.

Although we got him elected to the Pension Board and State Investment Council to protet our pension, he has abandoned the Union and sided with the administration. He has consistently voted with the appointed State Investment Council hacks instead of standing up for the Union. He just voted last week to divert hundreds of millions of dollars from PERS to private management - ecactoy the thing that the Union opposes. Whether you are a county, municipal, or state workers, this guy is screwing your pension.

Now he is trying cover himself by complaining about Local 1034 leadership. He's been on the Board for years, but now he complains...it's a smokescreen. He's lining up with our enemies to make politcal attacks on us, it's time we recalled him from the Board.

Looks like Carla is nervous

Can't wait to see those emails!

Embarrassing

The whole State CWA Union organization has become a laughing stock. The leadership is weak and their political clout has been destroyed. Does any politician " fear" the " wrath" of CWA. Of course not! They are dysfunctional and looked on as a side show to serious unions. Katz at least stands up for what she believes the other weasel CWA Presidents hide behind their $130,000 salaries and act like they are important. They are non-players in the State. There is not a single race in the State where a CWA endorsement means anything. Katz has a few faults but at least she looks out for her membership.

That is one Union that needs an enema!

1034

This guy has obviously been bought by "someone". He is only out to get neg press on Carla and will say/do anything in an attempt to hurt her image. And make no mistake about it that 1034 is strong and still very influential.

She sure is nervous!

Perhaps the Board of 1034 needs a class on Unionism 101. trying to remove a dissenter is UNDEMOCRATIC!

Funny to see Carla's petition against Berg come out today -AFTER the Board found out about the 1000+ signature petition collected by the rank and file to have Carla removed.

Katz

She's a joke; it is just that you old useless union Dopes can't think past your thing.  The only question is, and you can ask "GUARDRAIL JONNIE",

                                 How Low Will She Go?

Unions and Democracy, what are you smoking?

This is classic union quashing of member dissent. The Stalinist union bosses will do anything to stifle anyone that dares question the power structure. You will see the national CWA hierarchy throw Berg under the bus by supporting Carla because they are afraid if Carla gets ousted, some of the mud could splash back on Corzine. Just Watch. After all of CWA's whining about Carla, when handed a golden opportunity to send her off to her horse farm, they will back her. What a farcical charade, and nobody is fooled.
