Even Christie's outrageous gaff last Sunday, in which while, politically pandering, he argued that it is not a crime to sneak across the U.S. border has been met with silence by by both Andrews and Lautenberg who , like Christie, seem to want to pass the buck on what to do about the more than 400,000 illegal immigrants now living in New Jersey.
Lautenberg and Andrews have uttered not a peep of outrage that the U.S. Attorney is picking and choosing which laws to enforce, even laws they voted for. They don't seem to care that most New Jerseyans want action. They seem to care more about looking good than doing good!
Let's be honest: This silence on a tough issue is the same political posturing we get from both Lautenberg and Andrews on the war in Iraq. Both Lautenberg and Andrews supported the war, but now that it is unpopular, they say otherwise. Cresitello opposed the war from the beginning.
Donald Cresitello offers principled and courageous leadership on the tough issues New Jersey face right now. Standing up to Chris Christie is just the start of what Cresitello can do. Andrews and Lautenberg seem to have left their political courage in New Jersey when they went to Washington decades ago. They offer only silence and excuses for what has happened on their watch.
