Pipe Trades Endorse Governor Corzine for Re-Election

Pipe Trades Endorse Governor Corzine for Re-Election

Trenton - Governor Jon S. Corzine today welcomed the New Jersey State Association of Pipe Trades endorsement of his bid for re-election.

“I have worked with the New Jersey State Association of Pipe Trades and its members throughout my many years of public service,” Governor Corzine said. “I am always struck by the Pipe Trades' demonstrated passion for our shared values: good, family-sustaining jobs achieved through balanced economic development, access to health care and a guaranteed retirement income for its members and economic growth. I am thankful for their continued support and endorsement.”

“Governor Corzine recognizes the important role the construction industry plays in New Jersey’s economy providing good, high-paying jobs for skilled workers,” said Jim Kehoe, President of the New Jersey State Association of Pipe Trades. “The Governor understands the real needs of working families and his commitment to the enforcement of our state’s Prevailing Wage law will ensure these investments result in quality construction performed by skilled craftsmen.”

“Having a strong partner and ally in Governor Corzine is essential if we want to continue moving New Jersey and the country in the right direction,” said Kehoe.  “New Jersey cannot afford to elect a Governor who will play partisan politics and deny New Jerseyans much needed federal recovery act funds which will put people back to work.  Unlike Chris Christie or Republican Governors Palin, Jindal or Sanford, who all said they would not accept federal Recovery Act funds that total $17.5 billion - of which nearly $1.6 billion are in construction projects - Governor Corzine has partnered with President Obama to create jobs, put people back to work and improve our economy.  Re-electing Governor Corzine will help us continue moving forward with these efforts and lead New Jersey to a brighter future.”

President Kehoe also cited the Governor’s emphasis on growing the “green” economy, as well as his strong support for NJ PLACE, which awards college credits for approved apprenticeship training, and the Helmets to Hardhats program, which helps transition U.S. military women and minority veterans into construction industry employment, as reasons for the endorsement.

Endorsements are worthless!!!

Does anyone really vote because Bill Clinton or President Obama or Jim Kehoe said too vote for Jon Corzine.

Endorsements are worthless. The in-tune voter/Tax Payer is aware of who is doing what in Trenton and everyone knows that Corzine, and his henchmen and women in the Legislature have continued to burden all NJ citizens with higher taxes. Although these legislatures pay the same taxes we all do, they also earn megabucks from their contracts, side deals, and their law-firms, accounting firms and other contracting business from Municipality work etc. No wonder not many of these legislatures want to consolidate the many school districts and boroughs, towns, etc, because all of their non-compete business would dry up.

NJ Politics is more corrupt than what I viewed in Philadelphia city politics.

NJ political corruption continues because the few good elected officials are outnumbered 5 to 1.

I am voting all GOP, not because I like Christie, I believe he is just another Lawyer who is out of touch with reality.

I am voting GOP because the Governor and the Democrat controlled Legislature has made NJ a difficult State to reside and operate a business. Too many anti-biz laws, too many taxes, NJ has become a very expensive State to live. It makes sense believe it or not to move back to "Philadelphia,PA"

After all they will have money making casinos, while NJ casinos crumble and close their doors due to being limited to Atlantic City only. As soon as Philadelphia opens their two casinos, you could easily see All of Trump Casinos closing, Resorts, and Hilton closing, and a maybe one of Harrahs casinos closing their doors.
Camden City and Gloucester County could use a casino or four and North and Central Jersey could use a few full blown casinos too.

If AC, is the only place to gamble, then NJ citizens lose again. Thats all the craps I have to say today.

Importance of endorsements

Labor leaders, like the well respected, and trusted Jim Kehoe, are listened to when it comes to endorsements.

Workers don't have the time to fact check each and every issue that is important to them so when a trusted labor leader like Kehoe comes out and explains how Governor Corzine has helped create an environment that creates work opportunites ,the membership listens.

Respected Labor Leaders can make a difference. There are thousands of Union Pipe Trades members who will follow Jim Kehoe and support Corzine.

Thousands of votes will be influenced because of this endorsement.

Respected Union Leaders Endorsements

Hey Firstamend07, you are kidding when you state "Gov. Corzine has helped create an environment that creates work opportunites (sic)" Have you checked the NJ unemployment rate lately. What opportunities has Corzine created? How many brothers at your hall get work each day. I'm sure Mr Kehoe was properly wined & dined and maybe got a loan from Corzine too, while your union brothers cut coupons and eat Mac & Cheese 4 times a week. But kudos on your post, I'm sure you copied it exactly like your Business Agent told you to. Have a great day

LEADERSHIP IS IMPORTANT

It is unfortunate that people who are not in unions do not understand how good leadership at the top of a union can make a difference to the membership.

Jim Kehoe is a labor leader who cares about his membership and the membership understands that when he decides to back a candidate ,that candidate will help his membership.

Personal agendas are secondary to the membership.

Anti-union people get it all wrong. Good leaders place their personal gains behind the welfare of the members.

Jim Kehoe is one of the good union leaders of this State.
