TRENTON—Citing his commitment to working families, and strong leadership through trying economic times, the New Jersey Federation of Police today endorsed the Corzine-Weinberg ticket for re-election.
“I’m proud to have the support of the Fraternal Order of Police,” Governor Corzine said. “They understand the great challenges facing our law enforcement community across New Jersey. Just as they put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe, we must protect them and ensure that they receive pensions and health benefits that they have earned.”
During his first term, the Governor contributed more than $3.2 billion into the public pension system- more in three and a half years than the previous 15 years combined- and been committed to ensuring that pensions are available in the future. Over the past few months, the Governor has worked to secure American Recovery and Reinvestment Act dollars that will go directly to the men and women who keep our ports safe.
“We believe that Governor Corzine has shown the leadership, vision, compassion and has demonstrated the ability to work with the law enforcement community,” said NJ FOP President Ed Brannigan. “The men and women in blue should rest easy knowing that for the next four years we will have a Governor who understands that public safety is the bedrock of this great state.”

Carbon copy endorsements – is there anything fishy there?
This endorsement looks almost the same as the endorsement by the Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey. I wonder who wrote these endorsements and why?
