37th DISTRICT ASSEMBLY CANDIDATE CID WILSON ON HAND FOR SIGNING OF GOVERNOR CORZINE’S PROPERTY TAX RELIEF PLAN
Hackensack - This past Tuesday Assembly Candidate Cid Wilson was on hand as Governor Jon S. Corzine signed his long-awaited property tax reform plan into law and provided homeowners with the property tax relief they so desperately need.Â
“This was an incredibly proud day for every New Jerseyan,â€? said Wilson who served on the Governor’s Property Tax Reform Policy Advisory Group, the body whose suggestions ultimately formed the genesis for the legislation signed into law last week.Â
According to the Governor’s Office, those making less than $100,000 receive a 20% reduction. Homeowners who make between $100,000 and $150,000 will receive a 15% reduction, and those making $150,000 to $250,000 get a reduction of 10%. Â
Since Loretta Weinberg, the senior member of District 37’s current legislative team, took office in 1992 residents in the city of Teaneck have seen their property taxes increase by 95%.Â
“After many years and many more false starts, I am proud to have played a part in bringing property tax relief to New Jerseyans, said Wilson who recently attended a meeting of Teaneck residents aimed at understanding the recent property tax revaluation. “As the 37th District’s next assemblyman I hope I can do even more to relieve the burden on our district’s overtaxed working families. ###
