Jersey Shore Tea Party Patriots meet with strong conservative candidate to take on Rep. Pallone

PLAINFIELD, NJ – Small business owner and community leader Shannon Wright, the conservative Republican candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 6th Congressional District, presented last night’s meeting of Jersey Shore Tea Party Patriots with her ideas on lowering the cost of health care, shrinking government, and lowering taxes on working families.

“Twenty years is long enough,” Shannon said of Rep. Pallone’s time in Congress to enthusiastic applause from the Oakhurst gathering of 50+ tea partiers. “I know that I am the conservative candidate who can appeal to Independents, Democrats, and Republicans to win this election.”

The group heard remarks from several candidates last night. They invited Shannon to return to their next meeting.

Jeffrey Booker, an advisor to Shannon’s campaign and the former Chairman of the statewide African Americans for Christie coalition, said he saw Shannon’s candidacy as a bellwether for Republican success in the fall.

“Shannon Wright is exactly the kind of sincere, conservative candidate we will need to defeat Frank Pallone. She is someone who understands the difficulties middle class families are facing in New Jersey and she is ready to fight for taxpayers.”

“The American people are rejecting the radical Pelosi-Pallone agenda and they are turning to people like Shannon – regular citizens who identify with how desperately we need a change of leadership in Washington,” Booker said. “A community leader and true fiscal conservative like Shannon is the kind of candidate for Congress who can energize and expand the conservative base.”

Shannon, who holds a degree in economics from Virginia State University, is a Certified Small Business Planner with the American Management Association. She is a Pastor with her church and a small business owner. She lives in Plainfield with her husband and four children.
