BARRY FUNT SIGNS TAXPAYER PROTECTION PLEDGE
OPPONENT HAS VOTED FOR 116 TAX INCREASES
LIVINGSTON, NJ – Twenty seventh District State Assembly candidate Barry Funt today announced an important commitment to taxpayers. Barry signed the Americans for Tax Reform Taxpayer Protection Pledge, promising that he will “oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes.”
“This is a commitment that taxpayers deserve from their representatives,” Barry said. “Trenton politicians are out of control, and New Jersey has become the most over-taxed state in the nation. The first step toward fixing the mess is committing to a freeze on new taxes.”
Barry’s opponent, John McKeon, has voted to raise taxes 116 times since joining the State Assembly – more than $8.6 billion in new taxes. Assemblywoman Mila Jasey has voted for $1.7 billion in new taxes in less than two years in the Assembly.
“Enough is enough,” Funt said. “New Jersey’s hardworking families cannot afford more taxes, more fees, and more debt, year after year. We need a change in Trenton, and it’s time for John McKeon and Mila Jasey to go.”
