Statement from Christie-Guadagno Campaign Chairman Senator Joe Kyrillos on Jon Corzine's Pledge to Raise Taxes
By Chris Christie ..."Governor Corzine has confirmed what we already knew to be true. Yesterday, the governor told the Star Ledger editorial board that he would raise taxes by over $1 billion. This is unacceptable. Governor Corzine is promising to raise our taxes to cover his failed budget gimmicks, which have left our state with an $8 billion deficit, but he cannot continue to spend New Jerseyans hard-earned tax dollars with abandon. His spending sprees put our state in this mess and it is time to clean it up. New Jersey needs real leadership that willing to make the tough decisions to cut unnecessary spending and government giveaways. Chris Christie is the only candidate who has promised he will not raise taxes on the struggling citizens of our state. We need change and Chris Christie will bring change to Trenton."
