CHARLOTTE’S WEB UNRAVELING?
Union County Republican Chairman Phil Morin issued the following statement following a report in the Star Ledger that Union County Democratic Chairwoman Charlotte DeFilippo and other key Union County Democrats were served with multiple subpoenas as part of an investigation into her public and private business dealings:
The revelation that Union County Democratic Chairwoman Charlotte DeFilippo and other Union County Democrats were plastered with subpoenas relating to her web of questionable public and private business dealings comes as no surprise. From the millions in no-bid contracts to construction, engineering and legal firms doled out by the Union County Improvement Authority which she controls, to whether there was any illegal activity relating to the Union County Democratic Committee’s role in the Roselle elections, to state investigators’ interest in financial records in a title company in which she is a partner, it looks like Ms. DeFilippo and the Union County Democrats will have a lot of explaining to do to state criminal investigators over the next few months.
I guess it was appropriate that the Union County Democrats plastered their campaign literature with photo ops on their new Homeland Security-funded speedboat this past fall. Boss Charlotte & Company will need rescuing now that their ship is taking on water and listing badly.
