Dear Tom:
In an effort to clarify my earlier correspondence to you, let me first make clear that it was not and has never been my intent to offer - as the Bergen Record termed it - "an ultimatum." I have never and would never use that word as it relates to you or your candidacy. I apologize if there has been any confusion as to my intent. As you know, I have long supported your candidacy and believe that your record as a proven fighter for better, smaller and more ethical government stands in stark contrast to Bob Menendez. As you know, some of the county candidates endorsed by the BCRO publicly stated their intent to reject our endorsement. This created a highly unusual situation for the organization. The BCRO has a duty to the Republican Party to fill these vacant slots. The letter that was sent was intended only to confirm that you had accepted the BCRO’s endorsement and would be running on the BCRO party line. That was the spirit with which that letter was sent, nothing more.
From the start of your campaign you have always made unifying our party a top priority. It was my intention to achieve unity within Bergen County to allow your campaign and our county and local candidates a clear shot at the Democrats. It appears that we are headed towards a primary at the county level. However, that primary should not in any fashion effect your race. I know that once our county primary has been decided we will once again bring all of our candidates together under your name at the top of the ticket to win in November.
I am pleased that you took time from the campaign trail to attend our convention. I am proud that the members of the BCRO provided you with our unanimous endorsement and look forward to seeing you again soon.
Sincerely,
Guy F. Talarico

This is an April's Fools Joke, right. Jr. can't be that stupid. If you fold to Talerico how would anybody think you could every stand up to the Bush/Cheney crowd and fight for NJ on port security, etc.
