In Case You Missed It: Allen, Griffin Endorsed by Courier Post

“Diane Allen and Herb Conaway are proven leaders; Nancy Griffin would bring a fresh perspective to Trenton.
If there are any doubts about whether state Sen. Diane Allen, R-Burlington, is bossed, they should have been dispelled by a recently leaked campaign memo.
In a missive to municipal GOP party chairmen, Allen described how she wrested her campaign funds from former Burlington County Republican Party boss Glenn Paulsen. Paulsen apparently is running campaigns this year. He took $150,000 from Allen and her GOP Assembly running mates -- Nancy Griffin, a Willingboro attorney, and former Flyers hockey star Brian Propp of Cinnaminson -- to plow into other county races. But Allen refused to roll over for Paulsen.
Paulsen may not give Allen, of Edgewater Park, high marks for being a team player. But in Trenton, where too many politicians seem to forget whom they were elected to serve, it is refreshing to see a public official unafraid to think for herself.
We endorse Allen for another state senate term. We also applaud her determination to rein in state spending and willingness to work with Democrats to benefit New Jerseyans.
Allen is opposed by Democrat Richard Dennison of Florence. He is a thoughtful candidate, but clearly cannot offer voters the service and experience Allen can.
Voters in the 7th Legislative District also have an enviable lineup of qualified Assembly candidates to choose from, but we think the best in the race are incumbent Assemblyman, Dr. Herb Conaway, D-Burlington, and Griffin.
Like Allen, Conaway has consistently demonstrated he will put the interests of his constituents first. He not only supported a state ban on dual-office holding, but, unlike his party leaders, would impose the ban immediately.
Incumbent Democratic Assemblyman Jack Conners of Pennsauken has competently served his constituents, but voters have a choice of a more dynamic representative in Griffin. She would work well with Allen and Conaway to change the spendthrift culture in Trenton.
We highly recommend voters elect Allen, Conaway and Griffin.”
