DeAngelo Must Disclose How He Received New Frontier PAC Money, Who He Spoke To
Donating the check to charity is nice, but leaves important questions unanswered

Hamilton, August 27, 2009 - Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo's decision to donate the $500 he received from the New Frontier PAC to a worthy charity is commendable, but leaves important questions unanswered regarding how he came in contact with the PAC, who he spoke to about campaign contributions and who ultimately gave him the check, charged GOP Assembly challengers Rob Calabro and Bill Harvey today.
Calabro and Harvey said the scandal engulfing the New Frontier PAC is directly related to who was truly operating the PAC and who was ultimately distributing the campaign contributions on behalf of the PAC. They said that DeAngelo should come clean with the whole story immediately - especially in light of a likely New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission investigation into the matter.
"Yesterday, we asked Assemblyman DeAngelo some very simple questions regarding how he became aware of the New Frontier PAC, who he spoke to about receiving a contribution form the PAC, who delivered the contribution to him and what his personal dealings with disgraced Burlington County Democrat leaders Rick Perr and Jeff Meyer were in the process," said Calabro. "In light of a likely investigation by the NJ Election Law Enforcement Commission in to the PAC's dealings, we believe it is imperative Assemblyman DeAngelo comes clean on his involvement with the PAC and its players."
Harvey noted that while DeAngelo should be commended for donating the tainted money to charity, it doesn't absolve him of answering questions that go to the heart of this pay-to-play scandal.
"Donating the tainted campaign cash to charity is nice, but it doesn't give Assemblyman DeAngelo an excuse to avoid tough questions that go to the heart of this scandal," said Harvey. "It's not a stretch to believe that Assemblyman DeAngelo could be interviewed by investigators regarding how he became acquainted with the New Frontier PAC and who his contacts were there. If he has nothing to hide, why wait until investigators ask him these questions, he should just answer them now.
Furthermore, Harvey said that it is imperative DeAngelo come clean and answer some serious questions about his dealings with the New Frontier PAC.
