Woodbury - The New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police has announced their endorsement of Assemblymen Doug Fisher (D-Bridgeton) and John Burzichelli (D-Paulsboro) for re-election.
Edward R. Brannigan, President of the New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police, wrote, “the FOP supports your election to the New Jersey State Assembly on November 8, 2005. This endorsement is based on your support for the issues that are beneficial to FOP members.
“We are honored to accept this endorsement from the FOP, said Assemblyman Doug Fisher. "Along with Senator Steve Sweeney, John and I have been vocal supporters of our community policing programs and have actively fought against any plans to cut police protection in our towns. We have been aggressive in making certain that our law enforcement officers have the equipment and resources they need to do their job.
The FOP is an organization that represents the interests of law enforcement personnel by promoting better working conditions and increased safety for police. Their organization represents 22,000 members. The National Federation of Police is the nation’s largest law enforcement organization.
“Throughout our tenure in the Assembly, Doug Fisher and I have made it a top priority to protect the interests of those who protect us, said John Burzichelli. “In order to ensure the safety of New Jersey’s citizens, we will continue to fight for the rights of law enforcement.
