Where have you gone, George Kotch?
Kotch’s refusal to take oath during county reorganization denies voters their rights(Mount Holly, NJ) – Surrogate-elect, George Kotch, has informed the county administration that he will not participate in the county government reorganization on January 1, 2007. Kotch, who was scheduled to take office immediately following Monday’s ceremonies, will wait until January 19th to begin work. The Burlington County Surrogate Office will remain without an elected official during that time.
“Mr. Kotch has shown complete disregard for the voters of Burlington County and the Office of the Surrogate. Seniors and minors deserve a Surrogate to represent them and George Kotch was elected to be that person, said Rich Levesque, Burlington County Republican Committee Executive Director.
“This may be a record for the shortest amount of time a campaign promise has been broken. Mr. Kotch campaigned on running an efficient office just as the late Elton Conda did for forty years. If Kotch thinks by taking a three week vacation instead of serving Burlington County families is how to do that he is dead wrong, concluded Levesque.
