DESPERATE DEMOCRATS:
Ethically Challenged Democrats Take Cheap Shot In Hopes of Reviving A Floundering Campaign
(Mount Holly, NJ) - Knowing that their candidates for Burlington County Surrogate and Freeholder are plaqued with poor tax and spending records – but especially with ethics problems – Burlington County Democrat Chairman Richard Perr today sent a clear and convincing signal just how desperate things have become.
The short and long of it is this: the Richard Perr/Chris Fifis hierarchy decided to once again play the "Martha card," calling on the Chairman of a Joint Legislative Committee to "investigate" Senator Martha Bark.
"Just how bad is it for the Democrats running for County office? Pretty bad, especially if you're talking ethics," said Rich Levesque, Executive Director of the Burlington County Republican Party. "One of their candidates holds four taxpayer-funded jobs, another one is running for both county and local office at the same time, and one has raised taxes in her own town 43 percent."
"So what do you do when your campaign is awash in tax and ethics problems? Throw mud, of course."
This is actually the Democrats' second shot on the same subject in two weeks. The previous was delivered by Democrat Assemblymen Jack Conners and Herb Conaway, who "called on" the Attorney General to complete his investigation.
"At some point, even the media has to figure out it’s being exploited," said Levesque. "The real issue for the Democrats is a campaign fraught with ethically-challenged candidates and a poor message. Perr and his Desperate Democrats make the latest rendition of Desperate Housewives, by comparison, look like an elegant tea party."
