(Evesham) – Freeholder Director Aubrey Fenton’s maiden visit to Evesham was memorable but not for the reason the GOP Spin Machine wanted. When confronted by Evesham Mayor Randy Brown and Councilman Chris Brown to discuss the serious issues impacting Evesham residents, Fenton ignored their bipartisan attempt and resorted to a prepared statement.
Rather than discuss the proposed $48 million Marlton Circle Elimination Project, which affects 91,000 regional residents and nearly 100 local businesses each and every day, Fenton retreated to his prepared remarks about turf fields.
Chris Brown’s attempt to voice the concerns of the 48,000 Marlton residents he was elected to serve was negated by Fenton’s blatant refusal to deviate from his attacks choreographed by the infamous GOP Spin Machine.
“It is obvious to me that Aubrey Fenton is purely a scripted politician incapable of handling a substantive conversation of the issues affecting the quality of life of Burlington County residents,” said Chris Brown.
“For more than 3 months I have reached out to Aubrey Fenton, hoping to discuss this critical project and its impact on Burlington County residents. Fenton repeatedly ignored our concerns, our calls, and our inquiries and today attempted to push the Evesham residents into the myriad bureaucratic red tape,” said Brown.
“Fenton represents the same old tired politician who is more interested in political gamesmanship than finding real solutions. I am proud to join Mary Ann Reinhart in our efforts to reform our County government with our Straight A’s plan,” said Brown.
“Never has it been clearer that the time has come to put an end to the Incumbent Republicans three decade stranglehold on Burlington County taxpayers. Fenton’s blatant disregard for an honest discussion on a project that affects the lives of thousands epitomizes the need to change the way business is done in Burlington County government,” concluded Brown.
