Burlco Dems Jumping off the Sinking SS Rick Perr...A Classic Case of Too Little, Too Late
New Frontier Poster Boy Chris Brown is the worst among them
Mount Holly, August 25, 2009 – The Burlington County Democrats scrambling for political survival by jumping off the sinking SS Rick Perr in the last 24 hours is a classic case of too little, too late, and New Frontier PAC Poster Boy, Freeholder Chris Brown, is by far the worst among offender them, charged Burlington County GOP Spokesman Chris Russell today.
"The entire Burlington County Democrat Party, including their elected officials and candidates, are all to blame for the growing pay-to-play scandal engulfing their party,” said Russell. “They all pledged allegiance to Rick Perr and Jeff Meyer, were recruited to run for office by them, collectively took hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign cash from them, and stood arm and arm with Perr as recently as last week. Watching them step all over each other now and scramble for political survival by jumping from this sinking ship reveals a party in total and utter disarray, and politicians who stand for nothing but themselves.”
Russell pointed out that amidst all the hypocrisy and fake outrage yesterday, Freeholder Chris Brown’s rewriting of history was particularly absurd and self-serving given the fact that he, along with indicted ex-Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano, were the two largest recipients of New Frontier PAC campaign cash since the PAC’s inception.
"Freeholder Chris Brown is up to his eyeballs in this pay-to-play scandal and his hypocritical comments to the contrary are a joke,” said Russell. “He took more than $20,000 in campaign cash from the New Frontier PAC for his Evesham Council and County Freeholder campaigns. Where was all this bluster and outrage about pay-to-play when he was the one reaping the rewards? No matter what Chris Brown says today or in the future, nothing can change the fact that he and the indicted ex-Mayor of Hoboken are the two biggest recipients of campaign cash from the New Frontier PAC ever. If he wants to say something that’s worth listening to, how about he starts by defending that?”
