(OCEAN CITY, September 25) – Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce joined First Legislative District GOP Assembly nominees Mike Donohue and John McCann at a press conference at City Hall in Ocean City this afternoon to call attention to New Jersey’s economic difficulties under Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine and Trenton Democrats.
“Since the Democrats took power in Trenton in 2002, they’ve raised taxes 115 times,” said DeCroce. “Just since Jon Corzine became Governor, he and the Trenton Democrats who control the Legislature have raised taxes almost $9 billion. Is it any wonder that the Tax Foundation report issued earlier this week says that – AGAIN – New Jersey is ranked as the worst state in the union in terms of the business tax climate?
“Our unemployment rate is almost 10 percent, and while other states around us look like they’re beginning to turn the corner, New Jersey continues to flounder,” DeCroce continued. “That’s because New Jersey’s economic difficulties have less to do with international economics than they have to do with tax-and-spend Democrats in Trenton. Our troubles long pre-dated the rest of the country’s – but the good news is, we can put an end to them with one election in November.”
“Nelson Albano and Matt Milam are a large part of the problem,” declared Donohue. “Since he arrived in the legislature in 2006, Nelson has voted for higher taxes on energy, motor vehicle fees, health care, cigarettes, and even car rentals – despite the fact that our south Jersey economy is dependent on tourism, where car rentals are crucial.
“Add it all up, and Nelson Albano has voted to raise taxes by almost $800 million – in just three and a half years. We just cannot afford to give Nelson another two years in office.”
“Worse,” added McCann, “Nelson and Matt Milam together voted to impose Gov. Corzine’s low-income COAH housing plan, which will take $160 million out of the hands of New Jersey taxpayers even as it forces communities to allow low-income housing they don’t want.
“I’m a realtor, and I can tell you – communities here in the First Legislative District don’t need this housing. If they did, they would have built it themselves, without a mandate from the Trenton Democrats.”

Pascoe = Losing elections
The 1st District republicans never learn! Pascoe is one of the most uniformed political operatives anywhere.
If this guy writes something then you know it is wrong.
Car rentals is his big issue? Is Pascoe serious?
Milam and Albano have been independent ,fiscally conservative Democratic members of the Legislature. They have opposed their Party leadership on many fiscal issues.
At the same time they have been in the forefront of major initiatives like Paid Family Leave.
Who are Donohue and McCann and where have they been for the last couple of years ? They can't be too smart if they hired Pascoe to run their campaign. This guy could not win in a one horse race.
Add the embarrasing Alex DeCroce to this group and you can see why the Republicans will lose in the 1st Legisaltive District again.
Milam and Albano have been excellent representatives of the 1st District and deserve to be reelected.
Lapdogs and waterboys
So Allison, are you currently getting paid as Jefferson's chief of STAFF or are you a "consultant" for the next few weeks sucking up as much of that Norcross cash as you can?
These guys are toast.
Pascoe is a loser
Pascoe is still hanging around the first district looking for work. Go back to Chicago Bill. Maybe Donohue and McCann think your special. There are two reasons for that, 1. Donohue is too much of a gentleman to say otherwise, and 2. McCann doesn't know any better and just wants to get elected. Here's a novel idea, why don't you just leave them alone Bill and see if they can take the two assembly seats in the district themselves. Since VD (VanDrew) isn't running with Milam and Albano, maybe Donohue and McCann have a chance.
When I was asked by the former Senator if you should represent him 2 years ago, I responded no. Anyone who saw you in action on that election night at the Vineland GOP headquarters, would know why. You were nothing more than an arrogant, embarassment to the former Senator. Treating the constiuents in Asselta's home town as if they were ignorant dirt farmers. Every other sentence out of your mouth began with the 'F" bomb. What is it that they say about the big fish in the little pond ? You hurt the former Senator in winning that election more than you even care to realize. Too bad for you Nick got the last laugh and got a better job. While your still scraping around trying to impress without a real job.
What a piece of great advice by the way, telling Asselta to wear his wedding ring because Van Drew wore his ???? You were not worth what you were paid and never will be Pascoe.
Ignorance
This must be a Pascoe post. The ignorance and character attacks are typical of him.
Pascoe Post
CORRECT!! it is a post regarding the highly overated, arrogant, chauvinist pig, Bill Pascoe. He needs to get a life of his own, rather than destroy the personal lives of his former clients.
Agree
I was actually referring to the post by firstamend09.
Pascoe has madea habit of trying to use personal attacks in the 1st District.
It did not work for Asselta against Van Drew and it will not work for these two light weight republicans who are running against Milam and Albano.
I am surprised that Pascoe has not brought out his infamous camera man who got embarrassed at every Van Drew rally two years ago.
How Pascoe continues to get work is a mystery.
