Handpicked Double Dipper of the all- Republican Committee in Lumberton involved in probe which also involves international trafficking in body parts
Dan Van Pelt, the Ocean County double dipping Assemblyman was arrested this morning, according to the Asbury Park Press, in a money laundering and corruption probe which also involves international trafficking in body parts.
Van Pelt, the hand-picked Administrator of the all- Republican Committee in Lumberton was originally hired to displace longtime Lumberton resident June Madden.
“As if the double dipping wasn’t bad enough, now we learn that an Ocean County Assemblyman, whose salary is paid by hard working Lumberton taxpayers who have been hit with one exorbitant tax increase after another, is involved in a money laundering, illegal international trafficking probe,” said Chris Fifis, Lumberton Democratic Municipal Chair.
“The Burlington GOP machine has once again looked the other way as one of their handpicked cronies was enriching themselves on taxpayer dollars. They chose to reward Van Pelt with a part-time taxpayer funded position, one of multiple such positions that he held, while they laid off needed police and slashed municipal services,” said Fifis.
“Here we go again,” said Fifis. “This is exactly why we need real reform in Lumberton and Burlington County. Taxpayers have been decimated by one Burlington County Republican corruption scandal after another. We deserve better. I am calling for the all-Republican Committee to immediately fire Van Pelt and conduct a full audit of his activities in Lumberton.”
