Burlington County Democratic Freeholder Candidates Kimberly Kersey and Jim Bernard went door-to-door in Delanco as their "40 in 40 Listen and Learn" tour continued with stop #9. In Delanco, once again, the top concerns were taxes and the economy, and residents painted a bleak picture about friends being forced to move and others unable to afford health care."One woman we met spoke very passionately about the inadequate level of medical care for our returning troops. Her husband is a veteran and she expressed alarming concern that her husband is given generic drugs while inmates get name brand prescriptions," said Kersey."Kimberly and I were dismayed by the frequency of the "For Sale" signs throughout Delanco," said Bernard. "We spoke with Donna Snow, who has lived on Ash St. her whole life. Donna said that property taxes were responsible for driving many of her friends and family out of the area.""Our 'Straight A's for Change' plan was welcome news to Donna," said Kersey. We discussed potential solutions with her and fellow residents and explained that our "Straight A's For Change" campaign platform to reduce county spending by cutting salaries of political patronage appointees, consolidating county services and eliminating waste and inefficiency would be a major step to alleviating the rampant exodus from Delanco and Burlington County."You can learn more about the "40-in-40" tour, Kimberly Kersey and Jim Bernard and their plan to change Burlington County by visiting www.ChangeBurlcoNow.com.
