Maple Shade Township’s weekly farmers market was the sixth stop for Burlington County Democratic Freeholder Candidates Kimberly Kersey and Jim Bernard on their “40-in-40: Listen and Learn” Tour of all 40 county municipalities in 40-straight days Locally grown produce is featured each week at the market, harkening back to the township’s roots as an agricultural community for nearly two centuries from the mid-1600s to the mid-1800s. During this stop on their tour, though, Maple Shade produced growing support for Kersey and Bernard and their “Straight A’s for Change” campaign platform to bring accountability, accessibility and affordability to Burlington County government. While Kersey and Bernard toured the market, and as they walked door-to-door in various communities throughout the township, they heard from numerous residents who said it was time for a change in county government. “Residents repeatedly told us they were disgusted with corruption and career politicians,” said Kersey. “The answer, we told them, was a vote in November for our ‘Straight A’s For Change’ team.” “One particular resident told us a story of problems with development and patronage,” said Bernard. “We replied with our promise to, on our first day in office, pass the toughest pay to play and ethics reform measure in New Jersey.” Learn more about Kimberly Kersey and Jim Bernard, their “Straight A’s for Change” platform and their “40-in-40: Listen and Learn” Tour by visiting www.ChangeBurlcoNow.com.
