KERSEY AND BERNARD PROUD TO STAND WITH BROWN AND REINHART IN FIGHTING FOR WORKING FAMILIES

Garganio and O’Brien Nothing but Incumbent GOP Rubber Stamps

With last night’s Burlington County budget amendment proposed by Freeholder Christopher J. Brown and seconded by Freeholder Mary Anne Reinhart, real change finally has come to Burlington County.

Brown and Reinhart saved the jobs and livelihoods of 52 hard-working Burlington County families while the Republican candidates were calling the positions “special interest” and, instead, fighting to save political patronage appointees making over $100,000 per year.

“Tonight’s outcome is a tremendous victory for the taxpayers of Burlington County,” said Kimberly Kersey, Democratic Candidate for Freeholder.  “It is a testament to the leadership of Freeholders Brown and Reinhart and the tireless commitment they share in helping Burlington County’s working families.”

“The ‘Straight A’s for Change’ plan is not political rhetoric; it is a fundamental belief that we must make Burlington County government more Affordable, Accountable and Accessible,” said Jim Bernard, Democratic Candidate for Freeholder. “Our Republican opponents showed their true colors in the days leading up to the budget vote; they are at the service of the ‘Paulsen’s 20’ and would be nothing but a rubber stamp for Director Donnelly.

“The outcome was made possible by taxpayers believing Chris and Mary Anne’s message that that there was a better way,” Bernard continued. “Kimberly and I share that vision and will fight every day to continue delivering real change.”

“It really is about choices,” said Kersey.  “Garganio and O’Brien stated their support for the Donnelly spending plan which would have eliminated 52 jobs of hard working men and women.  It would have decimated their families and children and all the while our opponents wouldn’t make one cut to the salaries of dozens of politically appointed GOP insiders.

“Those are not the values that Chris, Mary Anne, Jim and I share,” Kersey said, “and those aren’t the values that Burlington County taxpayers deserve from their elected officials.”
