While Fenton was giving Comegno a vote of Confidence and fighting with his own party, Brown and Reinhart were fighting for Taxpayers
Latest GOP attack fails miserably on facts; further evidence of why it’s time for Straight A’s for Change
(Mt. Laurel, NJ) – Last week, the incumbent Republican Freeholder team of Aubrey Fenton and Stacey Jordan called on Chris Brown and Mary Ann Reinhart to denounce the local municipal aid cuts.
If Fenton and Jordan hadn’t been so distracted by their own party infighting and continuing scandals at the Bridge Commission, they would have realized that Brown and Reinhart have been fighting the aid cuts for several months and working tirelessly for the taxpayers.
“Mary Anne and I were in Trenton on two occasions during the budget hearings fighting against the municipal budget cuts and the new COAH regulations. The first time was on March 13th and the second time was on May 20th. In my first appearance I stated directly to the Governor: “I just cut our municipal budget 1.2 million and now you want to cut aid to our township another $450,000.00? You’re taking the rug out from underneath our feet,” said Chris Brown, Evesham Councilman and Democratic candidate for Burlington County Freeholder.
“I suggested to the Governor and DCA Commissioner Doria to create an efficiency model to measure a township’s success as well as determine municipal aid for the future. But you need to phase that plan in before you make broad cuts. At the second hearing, I was in front of a panel led by Treasurer David Rousseau with a panel featuring, State Senator Phil Haines. Senator Haines applauded Councilman John McKenna for the stance we took against the cuts as well as the new COAH regulations. It’s a sad testament that the incumbent Republican Freeholders are more concerned about a baseless political attack than they are about getting the facts and serving the taxpayers,” said Brown.

“In addition to attending both hearings in Trenton on behalf of the taxpayers, I also passed two resolutions in Shamong objecting to the proposed cuts in municipal aid,” said Reinhart.
“The problem with the Burlington County GOP is that they have been running the same tired campaign for so long that they are on autopilot. They are so focused on protecting their political bosses and insiders that they have lost all ability to effectively govern. It is exactly why we introduced our “Straight A’s for Change” plan several weeks ago to make county government more Affordable, Accountable and Accessible.”
