Palisades Park Deputy Mayor Jason Kim won't take a run at the LD 37 incumbent Assembly people.
Kim had been mulling opposing Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle (D-37) with the support of Palisades Park Democratic Party Municipal Chairman Mike Pollotta.
This week, in advance of tomorrow's party organization deadline for candidates, Pollotta made the rounds of municipal chairs informing them that Kim was done.
Both Assemblyman Gordon Johnson (D-37) and Huttle would have withstood a Pollotta-fueled Kim attack, but sources say the target was Huttle, who came to the party as an opponent of the old guard.
Pollotta simply didn't have the votes to beat her, a source told PolitickerNJ.com.

Clearly, if you regionalize, there is going to be a layoff of Newark workers. We cant afford to have more cops laid off right now. During Mr. Baraka's time on the council, the city laid off about 170 cops, when has led to our streets being much more dangerous than they need to be." - Newark Mayoral candidate Shavar Jeffries, the former state Assistant Attorney General, referring to the disbandment of the South Jersey police force.- PolitickerNJ.com
