Sources are telling PolitickerNJ that former Labor Commissioner Kevin McCabe has surfaced as a potential replacement for Joe Spicuzzo, the Middlesex County Democratic Chairman who was arrested this morning on charges of bribery and official misconduct.
McCabe served first as Deputy Labor Commissioner and later as Commissioner under former Gov. James McGreevey.
Before going to work at the state level, McCabe served McGreevey's chief of staff when the former governor was Mayor of Woodbridge.
McCabe is currently an official with the New Jersey Carpenter's union.
