Sources say U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman has hired a new chief of staff to replace Bob Decheine, who was fired after his arrest for sexual solicitation of a minor.
Tom O'Donnell, a former chief of staff for U.S. Rep. Rush Holt, who most recently worked for U.S. Rep. Phil Hare (D-IL) will replace Decheine.
Decheine was arrested in November as part of a sting operation by Gaithersburg, MD police. Decheine was one of 11 people arrested as part of the "To-catch-a-Predator"-like sting. He was charged with one count of sexual solicitation of a minor, a felony offense that carries a penalty of not more than 10 years in prison or a fine not exceeding $25,000, or both.
