The City of Passaic today is mourning the loss of Robert J. Lucianin, son of retired city policeman and retired business administrator Kenneth Lucianin and his wife Joanne.

Mr. Lucianin was the eldest of ten Lucianin children, and member of a big extended Passaic family with deep ties in the Democratic Party, whose house over the years regularly served as an events center for U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-9) and the Kennedys.

A resident of Hamburg, N.J., Mr. Lucianin was the brother of former City Councilman Ken Lucianin.

Funeral Services are 9:15 a.m. Thursday from Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton and 10 a.m. from St. Clare R.C. Church, 31 Allwood Road, Clifton. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 350 Sparta Ave., Building B, Suite 2, Sparta, NJ 07871.

Quote of the Day

"That's state money and the speaker has never raised an objection to that, and now all of a sudden she objects to her own bill. She's objecting on a basis she hasn't objected before on the TAG Grant program. Let's face it everybody, this is just politics. It's election year and it's politics." - Gov. Chris Christie, on Speaker Sheila Oliver (D-34).
