Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid tonight annointed Newark Mayor Cory Booker as the winner of the race to fill the Senate seat of former U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg.
In an interview with PBS, Reid was asked about the absence of any black Democratic members of the Senate.
In response, Reid told Judy Woodruff that Booker would soon join the upper chamber.
"Well, just hold your breath, Cory Booker's on his way from New Jersey," Reid said. "That'll happen in October."
