U.S. Senate hopeful Steve Lonegan could be getting a campaign push from a sitting senator.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) told National Review Online he personally met with the Republican candidate and is “considering trying to help him” defeat Newark Mayor Cory Booker in the October special election.
“In all likelihood, we’ll go in and either financially or try to help him through an endorsement or something,” Paul told NRO. “He just won the endorsement recently and we’d like to try to help him.”
