A former New Jersey mayor intent on making a run for Congress has at least $1 million in his exploratory committee account, sources said.
Former Randolph Township Mayor Tom MacArthur’s CD 3 exploratory committee has $1 million in its account, sources said. The news comes a day after MacArthur confirmed that Gov. Chris Christie’s two-time campaign treasurer, Ron Gravino, is serving as treasurer of his exploratory committee.
MacArthur is a retired chairman and CEO of York Risk Services Group. He is one of several Republican hopefuls interested in seeking their party’s nomination for the seat set to be vacated by U.S. Rep. Jon Runyan (R-3).
On his first visit to South Carolina as chairman of the Republican Governors Association, Gov. Chris Christie stayed in "moderate Charleston, in contrast to other potential GOP candidates who made early visits to conservatives elsewhere," according to an ABC News report.Read More >
