Gov. Chris Christie today fired another salvo in the running battle with U.S. Rep. Rand Paul, saying Paul should look to his home state before critiquing New Jersey.

Christie pointed out that New Jersey is a "donor state," getting 61 cents back for every dollar it sends to Washington, while Paul's Kentucky gets $1.51.

"Maybe he should start cutting the pork barrel spending that he brings home to Kentucky," Christie said today. "But I doubt he will because most Washington politicians only care about bringing home the bacon so that they can get re-elected."

Christie and Paul have sparred over Christie's criticism of the libertarian wing of the Republican Party and in particular, Paul's opposition to federal surveillance programs.

Paul responded by attacking the "gimme, gimme, gimme" mentality of Christie and New Jerseyands in response to Super Storm Sandy.

Despite having twice voted against federal Sandy aid for New Jersey, Paul formally requested federal disaster relief for flooding and tornadoes in Kentucky in 2012.
