Wayne, NJ-May 22, 2009. Peter Murphy allies, Anthony Rottino and Joseph Caruso, have once again shown a disregard for New Jersey Election Law. As candidates for the 40th District Assembly seats they may have authorized, with the assistance of Murphy’s “GOP Strong,” robo-calls which fail to identify the responsible groups This seeming disregard for state law is the most recent in a long laundry list for Peter Murphy and his allies; who, most recently, had another complaint lodged against them regarding illegal contributions made by one of his candidates for Council in West Milford. Mr. Murphy has a long past history of ELEC violations.  After his convictions, he resigned as Passaic County Chairman and left a $17,000 fine for his conduct.“Even a casual outsider must be concerned by the apparent disregard that Murphy and his group have for the law,” said Larry Tosi, an attorney associated with the Passaic County Regular Republican Organization and Campaign Manager of the PCRRO’s County-wide campaign.                  New Jersey Election Law requires that paid for disclaimers are attached to political communications.  N.J.A.C. 19:25-13.2 in relevant part states: a)      Whenever a candidate committee, joint candidates committee, political committee, continuing political committee, political party committee, legislative leadership committee, or a person or group making independent expenditures pursuant to  19:25-12.8, makes, incurs or authorizes an expenditure for the purpose of financing a communication aiding or promoting the nomination, election or defeat of any candidate which is an expenditure that the committee, person or group is required to report pursuant to the Act, the communication shall clearly state the name and business or residence address of the committee, person or group, as that information appears on the certificate of organization and designation of depository (Form D-1, D-2, PC, D-4, D-3, D-5, respectively) filed by the candidate committee, joint candidates committee, political committee, continuing political committee, political party committee, or legislative leadership committee or, in the case of a person or group, as the name of the person or group and business or residence address appears in public records or a current telephone directory, and the communication shall clearly state that the communication has been paid for by that committee, person or group.

Lame

This press release does an amazing job of saying nothing. Alan Zakin is a disgrace, Scott, how much you paying this schmuck??

These guys will try every dirty trick

I received one of these calls and was shocked that they didn't even have the decency of doing it themselves! and then they have the nerve to not let people know who sponsored it?

Typical dirty pool tactics from the Murphy candidates.

Hey Tony, why don't you get your attorney to prevent ELEC from "dissipating" any fines on you?

VOTE FOR CHRIS CHRISTIE CANDIDATES RIGHT ON DOWN THE LINE!

What do you expect from a convicted felon?

Peter Murphy is a convicted felon.  Plain and simple.  And felons usually repeat their mistakes, over and over again.

If Murphy and company broke the law before, they will do so again.  They have no regard to what is legal or illegal.

Hey, Peter, "who's your daddy?"
