So.....
He doesn't want another a$$-kicking? Good decision.....
favorite whipping boy
who's more disappointed today?
Paul Aronsohn or Wally Edge?
Sorry
I'm sorry to see Paul Aronsohn bow out...he ran a spirited camapign against Garrett who is nothing less than an embarrassment to the state and nation. Greenjacket
reality check
For all the attention he gets on this website, Aronsohn knows better. "Financial obstacles and time constraints" means he doesn't have enough time or money in his lifetime to wage another battle in a district that even the DCCC knows is at best a very long shot. They will spend their money in Ferguson's district.
No big surprise here.
A tough decision
2008 could be a landslide victory for Democrats dependent upon the GOP running-mate. While I think the seat is still securely in the hands of the Republicans, Aronsohn should be commended for the effort that didn't include any real assistance from the BCDO. An elected Democrat with some fundraising abilities is necessary for victory unless the BCDO decides to run a Padilla, Tedesco or someone else with the ability to compete with Garrett. If coattails are provided by the Democratic nominee, Garrett is not necessarily out of the woods just yet.
Decision: Correct. Reasoning: Tcha, you know what, uh-uh.
Aronsohn is smart not to run against Garrett in 2008.
But failing to admit that which is plainly obvious, that it is highly unlikely that Garrett is defeatable in the 5th Congressional District, is just wistful, amaturish spin.
Paul, try to be more candid next time.
Thanks Paul.
You did your absolute best and gave us a true blue candidate to believe in. Let the wolves roam around Garrett mountain for now. My problem is not seeing your name on the ballot under Hillary and Richardson. God Bless Paul!
