The Recreational Fishing Alliance today endorsed John Adler for Congress in the 3rd district.

"John Adler is a staunch advocate of the marine environment and, as a member of the state legislature, has actively supported the recreational fishing community," said Jim Donofrio, Executive Director of the nonpartisan Recreational Fishing Alliance. "Our experience working with Senator Adler has assured us that he is deeply committed to the well-being of the recreational sector and that he will take the concerns of the recreational fishing community to Washington."

strong endorsement

The RFA has particular influence in Ocean County for obvious reasons, so this endorsement, the first of probably many to come for Adler, carries some weight. This endorsement, which will combine with endorsements from New Jersey Environmental Federation and other organizations, will make the Adler campaign particularly formidable.

Happy New Year!

 Hope it is a good and healthy one for EVERYONE!

Now that the fun has begun again, I think the Congressional race will ultimately boil down to taxes and defense.  It is no secret that Adler is strongly anti military and anti defense and that will not help him at the end of the day.

Should Myers be the GOP nominee, he will have more core support from vets, military and defense which adds up more than environmental issues.

Should Saxton formally endorese him, that will say it all.

RFA

This is going to be a big mistake for the RFA.  I know many members who are extremely disappointed in the decision to endorse a liberal from Camden County and have started talking about a revolt within the organization.  One must remember that a vast majority of the members also belong to groups affiliated with the sportsmen community, including the NRA and other hunting groups.  They will not stand for a liberal getting elected in Burlington and Ocean Counties.  They came out in force during the legislative elections and will do so again in November.  The proof is in the pudding with this endorsement.  The RFA used to be a useful fundraiser for Saxton until they parted company over several issues which pitted the RFA against the enviornmental community.  WIll be hard to believe that the environmental community is going to stand hand-in-hand with James Donofrio, someone who has attacked them on many occassions.  However, their fundraising prowess wasn't as big as some would like to believe.  This endorsement will make it much more difficult for the RFA to be a major - or even minor - player in the cash game.  Bottom line - it means little in the end.

Nail on the head the oc

I knew something just didn't seem to gel here. Why in the world would an OC sportsmens group endorse a Camden County liberal? The fact that the endorsement was made so early and that the field of candidates isn't anywhere near set also goes to the fact that it means very little.

let the games begin

This is going to be a very interesting year.We political junkies will enjoy every bit of it.This race is on our radar. It would be very sad if the RINOs lost their seat here in the NORTHEAST.It would be sad if the republicans lost two house seats here in New Jersey. But who knows, maybe this lost will cause the moderate REPUBLICANS to take their party back from the religious right.Whatever happened to the republican party of goldwater?

This is my prediction.

Senate-Republicans will lose their seats in Maine and N.H.

House-They'll lose even more seats.(but there'll be close races)

democrats will take the last republican seat in conn.up to 3 seats in New York. And 2 seats in New jersey. It's time we punished the moderates.we're going to vent our anger.(please don't make we vote for these taxocrats.

BUT if  you make we vote for them then you'll suffer!!!!!!!
