AMY VASQUEZ AND DEAN BUONO COULDN’T BE MORE OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE CONCERNS OF BURLINGTON COUNTY RESIDENTS AND TAXPAYERS AND HOW BEST TO ADDRESS THEM

Burlington County Freeholder Dawn Addiego and her running mate Aubrey Fenton said today that one of their opponents doesn’t understand the need to control property taxes because she doesn’t pay any while their other opponent can’t criticize the awarding of no-bid contracts because he receives them.

“Amy Vasquez and Dean Buono couldn’t be more out of touch with the concerns of Burlington County residents and taxpayers and how best to address them, Addiego and Fenton said.

“It is, perhaps, understandable that Vasquez is unaware that the county tax rate has fallen by 23 cents under the Republican-controlled Board of Freeholders because she does not receive a tax bill, Addiego and Fenton said.

“It is just as understandable that Buono doesn’t realize that the Republican board has enacted the strongest code of ethics in the state, including a prohibition on no-bid contracts because he holds five such contracts himself, and doesn’t want to see them banned, the Republicans said.

“In every area of government endeavor, the Republican-controlled Board has compiled an outstanding record, Addiego and Fenton said.

“From lowering the tax rate each year to becoming the statewide leader in preserving open space, the Freeholder Board has demonstrated time and again that it is completely in tune with the wishes and needs of the people of Burlington County, they said.

“Our opponents’ campaign has been one of empty rhetoric, they said. “They have offered nothing of substance, one of them content to continue to let tax bills hit the mailboxes of everyone but hers and the other so tone deaf to the need for ethical conduct on the part of government officials that he not only holds five no-bid contracts but has said publicly that low bidders should not necessarily be awarded contracts.

“We will stand our record of accomplishment next to theirs any day, Addiego and Fenton said.
