BUONO REPLACES FIFIS AS THE NO BID CONTRACT KID
BURLINGTON COUNTY DEMOCRATS SHOULD ADDRESS THE CULTURE OF CORRUPTION
The Addiego and Fenton campaign today once again called on the Democrat county organization to address the “culture of corruption within their own party, noting that Democrat Freeholder Candidate Dean Buono – like last year’s failed Democrat candidate Chris Fifis – continue to embrace no-bid contracts.
“Not only do Dean and Chris share the fact that they were both overwhelmingly rejected by Burlington County voters in their past bids for Freeholder, but they continue to cling to their penchant for no-bid contracts, said Sean Kennedy, GOP Executive Director.
During last year’s campaign it was revealed that Chris Fifis, as a member of the Lumberton Planning Board, awarded four no-bid contracts in the span of 20 minutes --- a record setting pace.
Now, said Kennedy, research has shown that Dean Buono is the beneficiary of at least five no-bid contracts, having landed municipal prosecutor positions in several towns, including Burlington City and Township, and Edgewater Park.
“When it comes to ethics, we are once again dealing with Democrat candidates who talk the talk but can’t bring themselves to walk the walk, said Kennedy. “Contrast them with Freeholder Dawn Addiego, who joined with the Republican board last year in adopting a competitive fair and open process for awarding professional service contracts.
“We have learned that Amy Vasquez doesn’t pay property taxes and has problems with the FEC, we know she and her running mate disagree on light rail and now we know that Buono receives no-bid government contracts. When it comes to the team of Buono and Vasquez the residents of Burlington County need to be very suspicious of their contradictions and role in the culture of corruption within the Democrat party, said Kennedy.
