Codey Announces Subsidy for Students Attending Bowl GameTRENTON – Acting Governor Richard J. Codey today announced that $25,000 will be given to the Rutgers Scarlet R Club to help subsidize Rutgers University students attending the Insight Bowl game in Arizona on December 27.
“This is the first time since 1978 that Rutgers is going to a Bowl Game, said Codey. “The State University’s successful season is a source of pride for New Jersey and we want to do everything possible to make sure the Garden State is well-represented in Arizona. Hopefully we can help these college kids get to Arizona to root on the Scarlet Knights to victory and bring home a late Christmas present for New Jersey.
Rutgers University is also matching Codey’s subsidy from the proceeds received for attending the Insight Bowl.
