Simon Statement on “Jessica Lunsford Act” Bill Signing
Assemblywoman Donna Simon issued the following statement after today’s ceremony where Gov. Christie signed legislation known as the “Jessica Lunsford Act” into law. The new law increases the criminal penalties on those who commit sex crimes against minors. Simon is a co-sponsor of the legislation, A-892.
“I am relieved and grateful that this critical piece of legislation has finally been signed into law,’ said Simon, R-Somerset, Hunterdon, Mercer and Middlesex. Pedophiles who commit unthinkable acts against our children will now face stronger penalties for their crimes. This law will help protect our young people from these heinous offenders.”
