Former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan is kicking off his congressional campaign Thursday, according to a statement issued by his campaign.
Lonegan, who ran a failed U.S. Senate bid against Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), will formally announce his CD 3 candidacy on Thursday. The campaign notes it’s to coincide with President Ronald Reagan’s birthday.
Lonegan is among at least 16 GOP hopefuls interested in filling the seat set to be vacated by U.S. Rep. Jon Runyan (R-3).
The kickoff is slated to be held at noon in Toms River.
