Having just gotten re-elected in a blue state with the help of Democrats, fledgling presidential candidate Gov. Chris Christie on this morning's TV talk show circuit trained his sights on President Barack Obama.

"I said to him earlier that he should apologize," Christie said, referring to the President's earlier statements that people's private insurance policies would not be impacted by Obamacare. "I said last week that he should apologize. When you make a mistake you should apologize. The president did not tell the truth. That's why I didn't do a state-exchange. Anyone could see this was a train wreck."

Christie, who will take the helm of the Republican Governor's Association next year, made his comments to Norah O'Donnell on Face the Nation.

O'Donnell noted Christie's Election Night achievement of corraling 51% of the Hispanic vote and asked him if the Republican Party needs to pass an immigration bill.

"I think they have to fix a broken immigration system," said the governor. "Listen, I hope they do, Norah. That's what they should be doing. There are obvious problems that need to be fixed. We're not using divided government as an excuse not to act."

Chrisie said his agenda includes cutting income taxes and continuing with education reform, saying he wants school vouchers to give parents the opportunity to go to charter and private schools.

Quote of the Day

quote of the day

"As soon as you step into the lake on foot or in a boat, you're in the state's domain. I feel bad for the snake, and I hope it gets rescued before it dies when it gets cold. It didn't mean to get let out there. This snake should be one thing we can get together on and not worry about party affiliation. Unless the snake's a Democrat." - Republican Mount Arlington Mayor Arthur Ondish
