On Monday, I lost a very close and dear friend.
ln fact, many people lost a great friend. Senator Jack Sinagra left us way too soon.
Jack and I first met when he was a candidate for the state Senate. We developed a lasting friendship from that point forward.
Jack had been an outstanding Mayor for the Township of East Brunswick and even further distinguished himself in the state Senate for ten years. His interest in matters involving Health and Human Resources was obvious. A real people person, he cared about those who found themselves in unfortunate circumstances and in need of help. Jack was passionate and genuine as a public servant.
Jack was also a highly respected and very successful businessman in his role as president of a large corporation.
But, above all else, Jack loved his family and friends. His wife and children were his world, and they always came first.
Yes, this passing was way too soon. On behalf of myself and countless others, our deepest sympathies go out to Eileen, Jackie, Alex and Patrick.
We loved him.

"It's incredible, it's a dream. I would never have imagined that I would be running for mayor, but to have Ken Gibson say that, I didn't expect it. Having Ken Gibson on my side is the ultimate reference check. It's the ultimate in street credibility. Mr. Gibson said it, when he was running for mayor, people said that they weren't ready, but Mr. Gibson said 'ready or not, here I come.' I think that's apropos for my campaign. Newark is ready for this." Newark Mayoral candidate Ras Baraka- PolitickerNJ.com
