NEWARK - Joe DiVincenzo, the powerful county executive from Essex County, stood amng reporters this morning in the half hour lead up to Mayor Cory Booker's campaign kickoff for U.S. Senate.
"I'm with Cory," DiVincenzo told PolitickerNJ.com. "I've been with him, and I'm going to continue to be with him."
DiVincenzo announced his support for Booker last year, following the mayor's announced intent to explore a U.S. Senate run.
The executive's Saturday morning presence occured even as people continued to gather signatures toward a Senate run by Speaker Sheila Oliver (D-34), DiVncenzo's ally in legislative leadership.
"I'm supporting Cory Booker," he reiterated.
Trenton mayoral candidate Walker M. Worthy, Jr. raised more than $75,000 during the most recent fundraising period, boosting his total campaign contributions to date to close to $110,000, according to a written statement issued by his campaign.Read More >

"A break-in occurred early this morning at the offices owned by Carl Sharif and two others at 660 Stuyvesant Ave. in Irvington, New Jersey. Several items are reported missing, including two laptop computers owned by Carl Sharif. There is also reported damage in the building.
