NEWARK - Joe DiVincenzo, the powerful county executive from Essex County, stood amng reporters this morning in the half hour lead up to Mayor Cory Booker's campaign kickoff for U.S. Senate.
"I'm with Cory," DiVincenzo told PolitickerNJ.com. "I've been with him, and I'm going to continue to be with him."
DiVincenzo announced his support for Booker last year, following the mayor's announced intent to explore a U.S. Senate run.
The executive's Saturday morning presence occured even as people continued to gather signatures toward a Senate run by Speaker Sheila Oliver (D-34), DiVncenzo's ally in legislative leadership.
"I'm supporting Cory Booker," he reiterated.
The Two River Times, a weekly local newspaper covering affluent towns on along the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers, was sold earlier this month. On July 11, Domenic M. DiPiero III of Rumson, bought the quirky community newspaper from its previous owner, Michael "Mickey" Gooch.Read More >
