Gov. Chris Christie's re-election campaign will air a new television spot beginning Monday, according to a source with knowledge of the media purchase.
The new commercial will run for 30 seconds on both broadcast and cable television in both the New York and Philadelphia media markets.
According to the source, the campaign spent just over $800,000 for the media time, bringing the total television purchase to date to $2 million. Christie's first commercial, a 60-second spot entitled Jersey Proud, is running on television through Sunday.
Christie's likely opponent, Democratic state Sen. Barbara Buono, has yet to release a television spot. Liberal advocacy group One New Jersey has already spent about $1.8 million running a series of anti-Christie television and radio ads.
