
Northfield Mayor Vince Mazzeo (pictured) and Longport Mayor Nick Russo on Monday plan to formally announce their intent to seek Assembly seats in the 2nd District.
The pair are Democratic mayors of Republican towns and want to run on the ticket with incumbent state Sen. Jim Whelan (D-2).
Mazzeo and Russo plan to make their announcement in Egg Harbor Township at 5 p.m.
Earlier the same day, Atlantic County Sheriff Frank Balles intends to kick off his Republican campaign against Whelan. Balles will run with incumbent Assemblymen John Amodeo and Chris Brown.
Roy Cho, a mergers and acquisitions attorney and former New Jersey gubernatorial aide has filed to run for Congress in the 5th Congressional District.
