Legislation authored by Senator Anthony Bucco allowing the Morris County Freeholders to save taxpayers $400, 000 by streamlining the administration of county elections has been signed by Governor Chris Christie.
The legislation, S-1856, enables the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders, as well as the governing bodies in other Class II counties, to enter into a three year pilot program that eliminates the county office of superintendent and deputy superintendent of elections.
