Press Release
Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean, Jr. (R- Union) issued the following statement on Governor Christie’s recently announced task force on gun violence:
In the wake of the Newtown, CT tragedy, that state’s legislature formed a bipartisan task force to study the issue of gun violence, and how to end it, before there was a rush to pass legislation.
I am pleased that the Governor has also chosen the deliberative, informed approach being used by the state legislators most directly affected by the massacre at Sandy Hook. Before we act, we need information so that New Jersey policymakers and lawmakers can make similarly educated decisions.
