Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean, Jr. (R- Union) issued the following statement on Governor Christie’s installment of Frederic Knapp as Acting Morris County Prosecutor:
The Senate Judiciary Committee has absolutely no justification for the massive backlog of judges, prosecutors, and other appointments that are at the discretion of any Governor, regardless of party. The excuse by Majority Democrats that they are not moving nominees out of concern for “balance” in the judiciary is an utter falsehood. They are dragging their heels out of partisan spite. No other Governor in modern state history has been treated this way with regard to nominees.
